Hi,
I’m trying to perform a steady-state simulation using the Steady-State Analysis feature in PLECS, but I’m encountering an error whose cause is unclear to me.
The model runs correctly in Time-Domain Simulation mode without any issues. However, when I switch to Steady-State Analysis, an error message appears, but it doesn’t provide much diagnostic information.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? What could be the reasons for the steady-state analysis to fail even though the time-domain simulation works fine?
Could you share a model? Are you using variable switching frequency control for your LLC? Is your model open loop or closed loop? You are welcome to send your model and question to support@plexim.com if you would prefer not to post it publicly. Please reference this forum post and include any other helpful information you can offer, including PLECS version number.
Thank you for your help!
I’m using PLECS version 4.9.6, and my model is currently running in open-loop mode.
If you’re able to share a frequency control implementation, I’d really appreciate it! LLC.plecs (261.5 KB) IMW65R020M2H-plecs.xml (29.4 KB)
Your model converges quite quickly for me and I do not see a similar error message.
Is the model you shared different in some way? You didn’t save your Steady-State Analysis settings in the model (which I could recreate from screenshots - nothing that “2s” is not a valid value for “Show final cycles”).
One thing to try would be to go to File + PLECS Preferences + General tab and adjust the “Thread Limit” to 1 or 2 to see if that eliminates the error.
That doesn’t help and the model is exactly the same, then the issue is likely an environment specific one, which we may want to discuss further off the public forum.
