Seeking PLECS Simulation Model or Guidance for Alternate Arm Converter (AAC)

Hello, I’m looking for guidance on modeling an Alternate Arm Converter (AAC) in PLECS for my research. Are there any existing demo models or best practices for building this hybrid converter in PLECS?Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The Plexim team does not have a ready-made application for the AAC, although PLECS is a great tool to use to model the converter and controls. You’re welcome to see if the community has a model they are willing to share or to post your own model.

The only pointer I would give is to study the other MMC models in the PLECS library such as Cascaded Multilevel Inverter, HVDC Transmission System with MMCs, and STATCOM Cascaded H-Bridge Converter.

Due to the modular nature of these converters there can be hundreds of signal connections and modules which can appear several times in a model. The techniques below makes for cleaner model implementations that are less prone to modeling errors such as misconfigured connections or keeping module implementations synchronized across a model.
