Processing Bitstream from Delta-Sigma Modulator

Dear Concerned,

I am currently working on a design that uses delta-sigma modulator for measuring different voltage and current signals. These modulator provide a digital bitstream output, which is currently fed to a DSP with delta sigma filtering for further processing.

I would like to know whether there is any possibility of filtering or converting this bitstream directly at the RT-BOX side for further processing. The reason for this requirement is that the measurement signals are highly sensitive, and we want to perform the signal conversion as close as possible to the measurement source while transferring the processed digital data to the DSP.

Could you please advise if the RT-BOX supports any method for handling delta-sigma modulator bit streams, such as digital filtering? I see that there is Sigma-Delta filter module for TI C2000.

Also, can you please suggest is this the common way for rapid prototyping or do people usually feed the analog signals directly without regards for accuracy?

Thank you for your support.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Concerned,

I am still waiting for your valuable response.

There is no dedicated delta-sigma demodulator in the RT Box. Depending on bit rate and your controller application you might get away with using a PWM Capture block and low-pass filtering.

There is support for delta-sigma demodulation in the TI TSP, so this may be a better choice for your application.
