Connecting Output Port from STM32 Analog Output to Analog Input RT Box

Hello all, I recently want to generate analog signal from STM32 connected with analog input in RT Box via LaunchPad-Nucleo Interface. I already read the RT Box LaunchPad-Nucleo Interface User manual but I can’t find how to connect between Analog Output from DAC block by STM32 to Analog Input in RT Box. How is the solution on that case?. This simple case I want to use as a basic trial to check my open loop grid forming inverter plant using inverter average model. Please If you had any suggestion

Hello Lukman,

The LaunchPad-Nucleo Interface board indeed does not provide any connections to the analog input pins of the RT Box. This choice was made because it is uncommon to use the analog input pins when developing embedded control software on the STM32 microcontroller, and connections to the analog input pins would come at the expense of connections to analog output or digital input/output pins.

The analog input pins on the RT Box primarily serve the purpose of allowing engineers to use the RT Box to perform rapid control prototyping. In that case, the controller model would run on the RT Box rather than the plant model.

Of course, it is also possible to use the analog input pins when developing controls using an STM32 microcontroller. However, in that case, it is necessary manually construct a connection between the analog input pins of the RT Box and the pins on your Nucleo board. Using a D-SUB connector to build the connection could be useful (e.g. Access to this page has been denied. or Slim Right Angle D-SUB Header Breakout Board Terminal Block DSUB Connector Module (DB37 Female)).
